My fitness quest!!!

Last year I purchased an eliptal running machine, and I used it religiously for about the first month or two. Since then, I have gotten lazy and haven't used it very much. At my prime, I was able to do about 5-6 miles pretty easily on the eliptical. I got on it on Sunday after not using it for 6 months or so, and I struggled to make it through a mile and a half. So my goal is to by summers end to be up to between 3 and 5 miles a day, for 3-4 days of the week. 10-20 miles a week should be more than enough to keep my ticker going. I figure if I post it on the blog, and I don't go through with it, you will all make fun of me. So that may be just the motivation I need. Tonight when I get home, I will attempt to make it to atleast 1.5 miles, with the hopes I can do better than I did on Sunday and actually make it to a full 2 miles. So I expect you all to ask me Sept 22, hows my eliptical running going. If you care, you will askl me :-).

Im too sexy?

Ok, I had to share this with everyone. Wanna hear something ridiculous, ok two things that are ridiculous? The other night I was bored, and couldn't sleep so I visited an old favorite website of mine. www.hotornot.com. I love looking at girls in their late teens and early 20's try to look like models. The key word there being TRY. Being that I'm married and all now, I wanted to make sure I still "had it". So I sumitted a picture of myself to be rated. It's a picture of me from Aruba on the beach with my shirt off.

I check back today, to find out that my picture has been rejected for one of the following reasons...

Nudity, pornography, or sexually suggestive poses. HOT or NOT is strictly PG.
You are wearing lingerie, underwear, etc.
You look like you are under 18.
Group photos. It is unclear which person is supposed to be you.
The photo appears to be that of a model or celebrity.

Ok, Im not nude, I just have my shirt off. Sexually suggestive? I doubt that.
Look like I"m under 18? Doubtful.
Group photo? Nope, I'm by myself.
Appears to be the picture of a model or celebrity. AHAHHA I wish!!!!

There are pictures of girls in thongs and bikinis on the site, but my picture is too sexualy suggestive? Oh PAAAALEASE!!!
I never intended anyone I actually know to see the picture, so I figured it was pretty harmless. Well I guess it could have been pretty harmful if I got rated a 2 :-).

New Page 2

I don't know how I forgot to
mention this in my last post...

About 2 hours ago, one of the guys
I work with start shaking around uncontrollably in his chair. One of the guys
sitting next to him, grabbed him and placed him down on the ground. His eyes
rolled back in the back of his head, and began frothing at the mouth. It
probably lasted only about 90 seconds, but it felt like an eternity. When he
came to, he was really groggy and out of it. Didn't remember anything that
happened. When the paramedics arrive they asked him what day it was and he
struggled to stay focused and answered that it was Tuesday. They then asked him
how old he was, he couldn't remember that either. They checked his blood sugar
levels, gave him some oxygen and took him down to the hospital. My boss went
down to the hospital to see him, and said he appeared to be a lot better. He was
laughing and joking about the incident. He still doesn't remember anything that
happened. So now that we know he is ok, we plan on messing with his head when he
returns to work. We're gonna tell him that one of our coworkers saved his life
by giving him mouth to mouth and that when the paramedics showed up, he kep
requesting that they give him an enema. Now that we know he is ok, we are all at
ease, but when it happened, it was very real and very scary.

TGIF BABY

TGIF BABY!!!

This post inspired by Ani... She made me realize
that I never wrote anything about my trip to Colorado. I'll try to make a post
in the future about Colorado. In a nutshell... it was hot, hard to breathe, and
the scenery was breathtaking.

This is just a bit of an experimental post. Wanted
to play around with some new code I've been playing with to see if it actually
works on BLOG.

It's Friday and this past week has taken its toll
on me. I had to be in at work all week at 7:30, so waking up an extra 45 minutes
early to get there on time has really caught up to me. I'm looking very forward
to sleeping in tomorrow.

After work its time to drop off Jill, and then
over to Rachel's parents to work on the pool. We had severe thunderstorms and
tornados in the area last night, so we couldn't work on the pool. We did however
finish up the chair rail in the dining room, so the dining room/kitchen is just
about done now. This means Rachel and I can actually eat like civilized people
again. For the past 2 weeks or so, we have been eating off of snack tables. Ani
I'll try to get some pictures out to you this weekend of the dining room. The
next project will be the family room. Once Rachel's schedule calms down we plan
on starting that.

Fairwell Jill!

Tomorrow I say goodbye to a dear friend. My friend Jill, Jill the Jetta. Jill has been good to me over the past 3 years. I remember the first day I showed up to work in my new Jetta, back in the summer of 2000 this guy Sasa that I used to work with referred to my car as the little red rocket. He was right on about Jill. She wasn’t the fanciest of cars, but her heated leather seats kept me warm when I would leave for work in the dark at 6:00 AM. During this past harsh winter, Jill made it through every snow storm. Her traction control system keeping me safely on track. Even when I recklessly drove down I-95 in a driving rainstorm at 80 MPH, Jill kept me on track.. But tomorrow, will be the last time I drive Jill, my lease is up, and I must say goodbye.

This past week has been quite a hectic one. The liner in Rachel’s parents pool ripped which caused all 15,000 gallons of water to gush out. So tonight (weather permitting) we’re going to attempt to remove the old liner and replace it with a new one.

We’re almost done with the painting and wainscoting of the dining room. Between the fumes of the paint, the liquid adhesive, and the polyurethane, my brain is pretty much a gooey mess right now. It’s been so damn hot and humid lately, that we have to leave the AC on to keep it cool. So we can’t even get rid of the fumes by opening the windows to get some ventilation going.

As of June 26th, my mom is officially retired. Im so envious. I can’t wait till I am can retire. Playing golf, spending hours in front of the tv watching movies and sports, sleeping in, not having to drive in rush hour traffic. Hmmm, sounds a lot like my weekends. I guess when you’re retired, that every day is like a weekend. Oh yeah, and once I’m retired I plan on becoming a raging alcoholic.

Speaking of addiction, I do believe I am addicted to candy. It’s these damn vending machines they have at work. They stock these things with the tastiest things known to man. I figure if I don’t cut back, I’ll either have no teeth left or I’ll be a diabetic in no time. Two of my particular favorites are Almond Joys, and Gobstoppers. They restocked the vending machine today with these life saver fruit chews. They are kind of like a cross between Now and Laters, and Starbursts. My friend Shawn turned me on to these. I guess you could call him an enabler. The other day I sat in a meeting chomping on a Gobstopper and this woman who was sitting across the table from me, kept staring at me. I think that’s when I first realized I had a problem.

This will probably be my last posting till I get back from Colorado.

I bought a GPS today. I found all this really cool software to use with the GPS but I can't find any local stores that carry the interface cable that will allow me to upload maps and stuff from my laptop to the GPS. I figured it would be a good idea to get a GPS so I don't get lost in the moutains of Colorado and have to cut my own arm off with a pocketknife. I also bought one for another reason. About a year ago Kellie told me about this web site called geocaching. Basically what it is in a nutshell is people around the country hide stuff and then they give you the X and Y coordinates and you use your GPS to find it. Thought it would be fun to try.

Niel brought his web site back up. ALthough he stole my blog idea, I can see why. Geocities is a pain with all the restrictions and headaches associated with it. A large part of Niel's web site was picture oriented . I haven't figured out how to add pictures on my blog, so hopefully Niel has better luck. I think you need to uprade to the paid service to get pictures and audio.

Anika Sorenstan played in the mens PGA event today. The first woman in like 50 years to do so. She shot one over par which is damn good. I sort of have mixed emotions about her playing. At first I wanted her to do well, then I started having second thoughts and didn't want her to do well. But after seeing her play today, I am back on her side and hope she makes the weekend cut.

Things aren't looking too great for the Yankees. Bernie Williams has a torn maniscus in his knee and may need surgery, Roger Clemens has to go for further tests and x-rays on his hand after taking a lined shot off his hand in last nights game, and Jorge Posada was hit in the foot and had to leave the game. Not looking good at all.

Well I guess I'll post again when I get back from Colorado. I plan on making a move as far as the new car goes sometime in June. More info to follow. I haven't seen any of the big summer movies yet. All the goofy people who go to see the Matrix annoy me, so I think I may wait till that comes out on DVD. I've heard mixed things about it and I'm not overly exited about it. I feel the same way about X-MEN 2. The movie I do want to see is Bruce Almighty. That movie looks pretty entertaining. Till next time...
